What is a VLOS flight?

Today we’re talking about VLOS (Visual Line of Sight) flights: those in which the pilot maintains direct visual contact with the drone throughout the entire operation, without aids such as binoculars or FPV goggles.

🔺 By regulation, this means a maximum altitude of 120 m and a distance of up to 500 m from the pilot’s position.

However, if you can’t clearly see the drone—even within the legal limit—it’s no longer VLOS.

We’ll soon talk about BVLOS and EVLOS flights as well, to understand the differences.
